| Christopher Birch has practised as a barrister at the Sydney Bar since 1982. In 1997 he was appointed to the New South Wales Council of Law Reporting and has been Chairman of the Council since 2001. In 1994 he was appointed a part time lecturer in the Law Faculty of the University of Sydney teaching courses in legal philosophy, and he also teaches an introductory course in jurisprudence for Law Extension Committee.
